Balanced movement

In 2017, H04 and H05 were replaced by Creed. The Credo 3000 mechanism that had continued in H04 was phased out, while the mechanism and adjustment concept developed for H05 continued unchanged. Creed combined this with revised upholstery and a more neutral visual expression.

There is little in Creed’s appearance to reveal how naturally and comfortably the chair responds to the body and its inherent need for movement. Its most important qualities are found in the relationship between the body and the mechanism: the sitter is balanced above the tilting point, the feet remain involved, and the chair responds easily to the body’s movements. Individual adjustment is there to make this balanced movement work for different users – not to become the focus of the chair.

The name also connects Creed back to where the story began. Credo means “I believe” in Latin, while a creed is a set of beliefs or principles that guide the way we act. The names are different, but the underlying principles have remained remarkably consistent.

In this sense, Creed carries Peter’s thinking forward: the body should remain in control, the chair should respond easily to its movements and allow it to find rest when needed, while adjustment makes the balanced movement principle work for different users.
