Peter Opsvik "Skap" (Cabinets)

The exhibition SKAP at Trafo Kunsthall presented a selection of art objects by Peter Opsvik.

The title SKAP (Norwegian for “cabinet” and “create”) referred both to the form of the works and to an invitation to explore and be inspired.

Visitors were encouraged to explore the works by opening and closing them, an approach that contrasts with standard gallery practice and creates a dynamic experience both physically and mentally.

The exhibition focused on a lesser-known, non-industrial side of Opsvik’s practice. The cabinets, often impractical as storage, encouraged interaction and reflection, from one’s own mirror image to broader questions of climate and sustainability.
