Peter Opsvik – Moved by Movement explores how Peter Opsvik, throughout his life and work as a designer, musician and artist, has challenged our understanding of movement – both physical and emotional.

Designed to be used rather than simply observed, the exhibition follows the principle “Please touch”. A selection of Opsvik’s chairs is on diplay and you are invited to explore Opsvik’s ideas through movement, interaction and experience.

Movement, sound, touch and Opsvik’s designs come together in an immersive environment. Here, you do not only learn about Opsvik’s thinking – you experience it through your own body.

The exhibition also reflects the close relationship between Peter Opsvik and the office chair manufacturer HÅG (Flokk), a collaboration that created new opportunities for Opsvik, for HÅG and for the town of Røros.

At the opening and during the opening weekend, Opsvik’s sound objects set the rhythm and direction for free improvisation with musicians Eivind Opsvik, Håkon Kornstad and Tollef Østvang.

The exhibition is a collaboration between Peter Opsvik AS, Rørosmuseet, Kunst & Kaos and the festival Vinterfestspill in Bergstaden.
